Sugar Land 101 allows residents to familiarize themselves with the structure, function and purpose of City Government.
What is Sugar Land 101?
Sugar Land is again offering residents a great opportunity to learn, serve and lead the City.  The 10 week 2020 spring program begins January 2020  and provides an in-depth look at how our City runs.
Sugar Land 101, a course first introduced in spring 2004, allows citizens to familiarize themselves with the structure, function and purpose of City government.  It better equips and encourages residents to assume leadership roles within the community. The curriculum includes presentations by City department heads and field trips to several sites such as the municipal airport, fire and police departments, water treatment plant, traffic operations. Members of the class also hold a Mock City Council meeting.
Enrollment is limited and diversity is sought in class makeup.

Applications for the Spring 2020 class are due December 5, 2019 at 5:00pm.
